MADRID, 18 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The media conglomerate MFE-MediaForEurope (MFE) obtained a reported net profit of 209.2 million euros in 2023, which represents a decrease of 3.6% compared to the profits recorded in the previous year, as reported this Thursday the company, after its board of directors has unanimously approved its annual accounts.

The group has detailed that the economic data for fiscal year 2023 "are notably better than the forecasts that the company had at the beginning of the year."

In this sense, the group recorded consolidated net income of 2,810.4 million euros, 0.3% more than the 2,801.2 million euros in 2022, thanks, in part, to an increase in gross advertising income of 0.9%.

The company has also highlighted that during 2023, MFE completed the merger by incorporating Mediaset España Comunicación, so that, starting in the second quarter, "100% of the economic results generated by operational activities in Spain are consolidated and that are currently belong to the audiovisual group Mediaset España Comunicación".

In addition, the board of directors chaired by Fedele Confalonieri, has decided to propose to the general meeting of shareholders, scheduled for June 19, the distribution of a gross ordinary dividend, referring to the 2023 financial year, of 0.25 euros for each share ordinary class A and class B.

For its part, in the first part of 2024, the evolution of the group's advertising sales, supported by "excellent audience results", showed a growth of 6% compared to the same period last year.
