Orange billed 2,321 million euros in Spain in the first half of the year, which is 2.47% more than the 2,265 million euros registered in the same period of 2022, according to the accounts presented by the company this Wednesday.

Likewise, the company's adjusted gross operating profit (Ebitda) between January and June stood at 582 million euros, which is 11% more than the 524 million euros in the first half of the previous year. In this sense, Orange's Ebitda margin in the first half was 25.07%, compared to 23.13% in the same period of 2022.

Orange's commercial income in Spain reached 1,589 million euros in the first semester, which represents an increase of 1.53% compared to the 1,565 million euros in the same period of the previous year.

On the other hand, the turnover of the wholesale segment reached 384 million euros, that is, 5.41% less compared to the 406 million euros in the first half of 2022.

However, the turnover from the sale of equipment stood at 347 million euros, 18.43% more than the 293 million euros in the first half of the previous year.

"In a context of growing pressure on the 'telco' business, Orange Spain confirms the positive evolution in its financial results by fulfilling its plans and ending the first half of 2023 with growth in its Ebitda to 582 million euros", has featured company.

"It should be remembered that the company's estimates contemplated a return to growth throughout 2023, an objective that has already been achieved in the first half of the year," he added.

Thus, Orange accumulates two consecutive semesters of growth in its total turnover (1.3% in the second semester of 2022 and 2.5% in the first of 2023).

On the other hand, the French company had 21.28 million customers (2.8% year-on-year) in Spain at the end of the semester, of which 17.32 are users of mobile services (3.7% year-on-year) and 3 .96 million fixed broadband (-1%).

In this sense, among mobile service customers there are 15.73 million contract customers (5.3%) and 1.59 million prepaid customers (-9.2%). Regarding fixed broadband, 3.57 million are fiber optic customers to the home (1.3) and 1.13 million television (20.4%).

The operator has invested 347 million euros up to June in network infrastructure in Spain, that is, around 15% of its income. "Therefore, Orange's investment effort is maintained in order to contribute to the development of the country and its citizens and companies through digitization and the extension of the most advanced telecommunications networks (FTTH, 5G, 5G). Orange continues to be the operator with the mobile network that connects the largest number of customers in Spain, with more than 29 million", the company highlighted.
