Orlando man seriously hurt after east Orange crash

An Orlando man was seriously injured early Monday after the car he was driving veered off State Road 50 and struck a power pole near Rouse Lake Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jovaney Pagan, 33, was reported in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center, authorities said.

Pagan’s Nissan sedan was headed west on S.R. 50 in east Orange County about 12:05 a.m. when it left the road and struck the utility pole, troopers said. The collision knocked over the pole and knocked out power to dozens in the area for several hours, according to reports.

Pagan was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.

He was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to investigators.
