Parts of N.J. could hit 50 degrees Wednesday with chance of rain

Temperatures will reach 50 degrees in parts of New Jersey on a day when some rain is also possible.

Forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered showers this afternoon.

Weather to turn frigid, then warm

Highs are expected to reach 48 in Morristown, 49 in Atlantic City, 50 in Newark and 51 in Trenton, the National Weather Service says.

As of 7 a.m. temperatures range form 19 in Walpack to 42 at the Atlantic City marina, the state climatologist's office says. Most locations are anywhere from the upper 20s to mid 30s.

Overnight it will be partly cloudy and windy with lows in the 20s. Winds could gust to more than 25 mph.

Mid-February temperatures generally range form the mid 20s to the low 40s.

The outlook for Thursday and Friday is nearly identical -- sunny with highs in the low 40s both days.

Milder weather returns for the weekend - with Sunday expected to be particularly warm. Highs could make it 60 that day.
