Police seek 2 after West Side home invasion, armed robbery

Chicago police are looking for two men who appeared to be wearing police clothing during an armed robbery and a home invasion this week on the West Side.

The crimes occurred Tuesday about 1:05 a.m. and Monday about 11:10 p.m.

In Monday’s attack, the victim was walking in an alley in the 200 block of South Kilbourn Avenue when two men pulled up in a 4-door silver vehicle.

One man, who carried a hand-held radio and a blue shirt with a patch which looked like a police patch, exited the vehicle while brandishing a gun and took money and clothing from the victim, police said.

In the second attack, the same two men confronted victims in the hallway of an apartment building in the 800 block of North Monticello Avenue and displayed a handgun, police said. One of the two men was again wearing a blue shirt with a patch that resembled a police patch, police said.

After the victims fled on foot into an apartment, the two men forced their way into an apartment and took a television before fleeing, police said.

One of the attackers was described as a white man about 22-35 years old who is 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-5 and about 170 pounds. He was wearing blue shirt with a police patch, police said.

The other is a black man about 23-30-years old, but no further description was given.

Anyone with information should call police at 312-744-8263.
