Portland police this weekend arrested a 21-year-old man accused of breaking into an apartment while naked.

A 28-year-old woman and her two children were able to escape from the intruder without any serious physical injuries, police said.

Police arrested 21-year-old Miguel Gomez on charges of burglary, kidnapping, attempted rape and interfering with making a police report. He'll be arraigned Tuesday.

Officers responded to the Village Garden Apartments, near Northeast 152nd and Sandy Boulevard, on Saturday evening to eventually find the naked man hiding behind a couch in the woman's apartment.

The man entered the apartment through a fourth-floor balcony and pulled the woman toward a bathroom, police said. An initial attempt to call 9-1-1 was thwarted by the suspect, prompting the woman to leave the apartment with her two children and seek help from a neighbor.

Police said the suspect was reportedly a former resident of the apartment complex.

Saturday's incident wasn't the only naked burglary reported to police this weekend. Former NFL player Stanley Wilson II was arrested in Woodburn on similar charges -- his third such naked encounter.
