SIX appoints Bjorn Sibbern as Global Head of Exchanges and Member of the Management Committee

MADRID, 21 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

SIX, the operator of the Swiss and Spanish stock exchanges, has appointed Bjorn Sibbern as global head of the Exchanges business unit and member of the Management Committee. Sibbern, who will take office on January 1, will be responsible for both the Swiss and Spanish Stock Exchanges in SIX, as well as the SDX digital stock exchange, the company reported this Thursday.

Danish-born Sibbern will thus replace Christoph Landis, who has led SIX's Exchanges business on an interim basis since February 2023. Landis will return to his previous role as Chief Technology Officer and member of the SIX Management Committee.

With more than two decades of experience in capital markets, Sibbern is currently Executive Vice President and President of European Markets at Nasdaq. In this role, he leads the Nasdaq markets and exchanges in the Nordic and Baltic regions. He is also responsible for trading, listing, clearing, settlement and data in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland and the Baltic nations.

Previously, he was executive vice president of Global Information Services (GIS) at Nasdaq, based in New York, and previously led Nasdaq's Global Commodities business and was president of the Nasdaq Copenhagen Exchange. Early in his career, he managed Nasdaq's Nordic Equity and Derivatives Markets.
