The former president of Ciudadanos Inés Arrimadas, who left politics in June of this year, has signed for the renewable energy company Recurrent Energy, a renewable energy company integrated into the Canadian Solar group, as director of ESG and Communication (Chief ESG and Communications Officer), as reported this Thursday by herself and the firm.

The new journey of Arrimadas will start next January. The former politician will have the responsibilities of leading the ESG strategy and the corporate communications area, public affairs and institutional relations of the company itself, in "close" collaboration with Canadian Solar.

Arrimadas, who was the spokesperson for the Citizens parliamentary group in the Parliament of Catalonia, head of the opposition in that autonomous community and spokesperson in Congress, has indicated in a message published through the social network He is "very happy" to have joined the company and is grateful for "the trust."

The former president of Ciudadanos announced her retirement from politics on June 1, 2023, after the debacle of her party in the local and regional elections of 28M, which led to the disappearance of the party from all the regional parliaments in contention and the loss of the 80% of its councilors.

The disaster led the 'orange' leadership to give up running in the general elections of 23J with the aim of "rearming" itself for future electoral events. She was one of the leaders who opted not to present lists at that electoral event, a decision that provoked a strong internal response.

A Ciudadanos militant since 2011, Arrimadas led his party to victory in the 2017 Catalan elections, but did not run for office when a pro-independence majority formed. After her, Albert Rivera incorporated her into the Congressional lists and she took over the leadership of the party after the defeat in the November 2019 general elections.

At the end of last year and despite being the best-known face of Ciudadanos, he refused to appear in the primaries of the refoundation of Ciudadanos and preferred to support a list headed by the Balearic representative Patricia Guasp, today also outside the party, and the 'orange' leader in the European Parliament, Adrián Vázquez, who continues as secretary general of the party.
