- Supermicro expands its portfolio of GPU solutions with a liquid-cooled AI development platform developed by NVIDIA

The complete AI development platform offers a comprehensive hardware and software solution with Petaflops performance to create accelerated production AI, ideal for low-noise office deployments

SAN JOSE, California, March 22, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Supermicro, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), a total provider of IT solutions for cloud, AI/ML, storage and 5G/Edge, announces the first of a line of powerful, quiet, and energy-efficient NVIDIA-accelerated AI development platforms that bring information professionals and developers the most powerful technology available today right next to their desktop.

The new AI development platform, SYS-751GE-TNRT-NV1, is an application-optimized system that excels at developing and running AI-based software. This innovative system offers developers and users a complete HPC and AI resource for departmental workloads. In addition, this powerful system can support a small team of users simultaneously running training, inference, and analytics workloads.

The autonomous liquid cooling feature meets the thermal design power needs of the four NVIDIA® A100 Tensor Core GPUs and two 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs to enable maximum performance while improving overall system efficiency and enabling a Quiet operation (approximately 30 dB) in an office environment. Additionally, this system is designed to house high-performance CPUs and GPUs, making it ideal for AI/DL/ML and HPC applications. The system can reside in an office environment or be rack-mounted when installed in a data center environment, simplifying IT management.

According to Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro: "Supermicro is taking its leading AI server-based technology and creating the industry's most powerful HPC and AI development system, enabling it to run a wide range of data loads." AI work and development on a desktop."This exciting new GPU system will also have a fully integrated liquid cooling system, allowing cutting-edge CPUs and GPUs to run at peak performance without additional infrastructure costs. We constantly listen to our customers' requirements to understand their IT needs and offer them the most optimized products anywhere."

This AI solution includes a three-year subscription license for NVIDIA AI Enterprise, the software layer of NVIDIA's AI platform, which includes NVIDIA AI workflows, frameworks, pre-trained models, and infrastructure optimization. This comprehensive solution reduces the time it takes for developers and users to be productive, since all software components are preloaded on the system.

Ian Buck, Vice President of High-Performance and Hyperscale Computing at NVIDIA, said, "Advancements in AI demand desktop systems designed to deliver the performance, speed, and power efficiency that today's customers need. The platform of Supermicro's NVIDIA AI development gives users the ability to run the world's most demanding workloads right on their desktop."

At the heart of Supermicro's AI development platform are four 80 GB NVIDIA A100 GPUs that businesses can use to accelerate a wide range of AI and HPC workloads. This system includes two 4th generation Intel® Xeon® Gold 6444Y processors running at a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz, 512 GB of DDR5 memory, six 1.92 TB NVMe storage devices, and an NVIDIA network adapter ConnectX®-6 DX 25GbE installed.

A self-contained liquid cooling solution is included to cool this high-end AI development platform in whisper-quiet. Upon receiving the system, users simply connect it to a power source and the network. This new AI development platform can be easily relocated as workloads change without changing infrastructure at the rack level.

Supermicro's AI development platform, SYS-751GE-TNRT-NV1, is available now and will be showcased virtually at Supermicro's booth at NVIDIA GTC, a global AI conference running through Thursday, March 23, 2023.
