CHANGZHOU, China, April 12, 2023/PRNewswire/ -- TrinaTracker, Trina Solar's (SHA: 688599) smart tracking solution provider, has announced the global launch of the second generation Vanguard 2P tracker, equipped with its latest multi-engine control system.
The 2P configuration and lower battery design features have been shown to significantly reduce BOS costs, especially for tougher dirt and scenarios with higher battery requirements. Those harsh environments are increasing in prevalence globally with the decline in flat land for solar plants. Vanguard 2P (single axis dual axis tracker) has been TrinaTracker's flagship product since its first release in 2021. Its patented ball bearing prevents misalignment and minimizes friction and reduces installation time and cost. Trina Solar's continuous module and tracker research and development capability makes it perfectly compatible with ultra-high power modules and maximizes power generation from solar plants. By the end of 2022, TrinaTracker had delivered 3 GW of Vanguard 2P trackers worldwide.
The second generation Vanguard 2P uses a multi-motor control system to replace the original mechanical method. In the new drive system, the main controller sends commands and the secondary controller receives commands to drive the motors. The self-developed intelligent mechanism allows synchronization of multiple motors to avoid possible structure failure, which can save time and cost in operations and maintenance.
In addition to the multi-motor control system, the second generation of Vanguard 2P also improves the compatibility of the structure with larger modules up to 695W. All of these enhancements lower system costs, lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and are better suited for more complex sites.
