The fourth edition of the Malaga international architecture festival will be held from May 10 to 12. Málaga, May 9, 2024.- Open House Málaga starts this weekend and the offer of free activities brought by the international architecture festival is wide and varied. On May 10, 11 and 12, Open House Málaga will open the doors of 34 buildings in Malaga, carry out 18 walking routes through the city and carry out 4 very special experiences. Participating in the Open House Málaga festival is very simple and free. More than half of the proposed activities do not require prior registration and can be enjoyed by all citizens who want to get to know the city of Malaga better. Among the more than 55 activities, for all tastes, there are 5 visits that should not be missed.1. La Farola de Málaga, inaugurated in 1817 and designed by engineer Joaquín María Pery, will be open to the public for the first time by Open House Málaga. This lighthouse, symbol of the city, is one of the most special visits of the festival.2. The now traditional visit to the Las Teresianas School attracts dozens of visitors every year who want to discover the interior of this center, whose classrooms have views of the sea. The school is located on a natural slope and adapts to the terrain thanks to its staggered layout.3. Another novelty this year is the Jorge Guillén Municipal Public Library, located in the building that occupied the old Convent of San Andrés, in the Perchel neighborhood. The visit, carried out by the authors of the project, will allow visitors to understand how the original elements of the convent have been used in the rehabilitation and adaptation of this space for its new cultural use.4. The route through the Villas of "El Limonar". The architect Ciro de la Torre will be the guide of this route, another classic of the festival that runs through one of the most elegant neighborhoods of Malaga, built between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.5. The Gaona Route, new this year, will allow citizens to enter an architectural complex located in the heart of the city that dates back to the 18th century by the historian Víctor Heredia. Some of the buildings that They had more success in past editions, such as the Camarín de las Monjas or the luxurious Miramar Hotel.
