Madrid, November 28, 2023.- Last Friday, November 24, the 60th anniversary of Grupo Cuñado, a committed, solid and family company, was commemorated at its headquarters in Alcalá de Henares. The Spanish multinational, present on five continents, has brought together more than a thousand people including national and international clients, suppliers and group workers.
The massive meeting was headed by its president, Carlos David Cuñado and his daughter Vivian Cuñado, and was attended by the president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, the mayor of Alcalá de Henares, Judith Piquet, and the president of the Madrid Assembly, Enrique Ossorio and the president of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez, among other political personalities, business organizations and the media.
Grupo Cuñado, with a solid presence in Spain and in more than 15 countries in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, maintains the character of a family business, with purely Spanish capital and is made up of a team of 585 people.
Its founder, Máximo Cuñado Alonso, was recognized in June 2014 with the Gold Medal for Merit at Work by the Council of Ministers for “socially useful and exemplary conduct in the performance of the duties imposed by the exercise of any job, profession or service, habitually exercised.”
The company, dedicated to the supply of tubes, valves, accessories and miscellaneous items, provides its services to all industrial sectors: chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, metallurgical plants, iron and steel plants, paper, food, shipbuilding, gas , etc., and reaches an annual turnover of more than 600 million euros.
The gala was presented by the television broadcaster Carlos Sobera and an emotional video was broadcast remembering how the first stone was laid, with numerous company workers participating in it.
Carlos David Cuñado thanked the union and synergies between colleagues, as well as the effort and trust that is seen in Grupo Cuñado. “Goals cannot be achieved without discipline and perseverance. Let's maintain humility and that will mean that we have ample space to extend ourselves every day," the president stressed.
In this sense, Vivian Cuñado, who heads the third generation, highlighted in his speech that the trajectory up to this point had been remarkable, but what really excited him is the future, made up of innovations, but maintaining its essence as a family business. “Grupo Cuñado is more than a family and today a new era begins and together we are going to go very far,” she said.
The mayor of Alcalá de Henares, Judith Piquet, valued the company's activity in her city, "it is more than an example of strength and we want you to not be an exception, but a rule to follow."
The president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, mentioned the great contribution of Grupo Cuñado not only in Spain, but throughout the world. “If everything goes as planned, because there is a legacy to defend, a family tradition, a great team that has earned being a leading and competitive company worldwide, there will be a fourth generation. And Alcalá de Henares will have the opportunity to have a global company always capable of providing a solution.”
A representation of Grupo Cuñado workers gave a gift to Carlos David Cuñado with which they wanted to thank him for the values he has instilled for so many years: “Employees and colleagues, we present this recognition to an exemplary president.”
During dinner, attendees were able to enjoy the musical show that triumphs in the capital, WAH Madrid, a journey through a fusion of musical styles that ranges from rap to flamenco, from heavy metal to opera or from gospel to rock. A format that unites music and gastronomy, with which Grupo Cuñado surprised each of the guests, and with which they celebrated, accompanied by the humor of Carlos Sobera, their most special anniversary.
