BEIJING, Dec. 29, 2023/PRNewswire/ -- To bid farewell to 2023 and welcome 2024, CGTN launches a 24-hour non-stop "Read a Poem" live broadcast event in seven cities around the world on Sunday the world to welcome the New Year with friends and family from all over the planet.

This 24-hour event will begin at 08:00 GMT (16:00 Beijing time) with guests in Sydney, Xi'an, Changsha, Almaty, Cairo, Paris and Mexico City. Residents of these seven cities will be invited to come live and talk about their New Year's resolutions, recite poems, or send good wishes to others before our streaming camera.

Meeting overseas Chinese and Sydney locals will allow us to toast the New Year while exploring the differences and similarities between Chinese and Australian cultures. In addition to waiting for the first sunrise of 2024, we will enjoy the famous New Year's Eve fireworks.
