LONDON, February 19, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 18, 2024, with the support of BE OPEN, the 2nd International Conference on Sustainability: Developments and Innovations began at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a spectacular opening ceremony.

The 2024 conference and exhibition focuses on engineering best practices employed to achieve sustainable development goals and strives to connect talented people with decision-makers and unlimited opportunities.

ICSDI 2024 invites visitors on a transformative journey through six key themes: sustainable construction and resilient infrastructure, sustainable manufacturing and industrial ecology, innovations in renewable energy, cities of the future, design of sustainable built environments and policies to achieve the SDGs.

In addition to presentations on challenging tasks, innovative projects and latest research, ICSDI 2024 offers lectures, workshops and panel discussions featuring a variety of distinguished speakers. Representatives of the Saudi Ministries of Energy, Investment, representatives of UNDP structures, Saudi and international environmental authorities, companies and institutions deeply involved in sustainability, innovation and environmental causes.

On February 21, BE OPEN Director Gennady Terebkov will speak at the roundtable dedicated to the role of international organizations in promoting sustainability aspects, about the achievements and ambition of the SDG-focused competition program of the Foundation. His fellow panellists will be UNDP Deputy Resident Representative for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Margaret Jones Williams, Horváth Middle East CEO Patrick Braunschweig and May Barber, LEED Green Associate Architect.

BE OPEN will strongly advocate for the inclusion of sustainability programs in the curricula of universities around the world, as well as encouraging students to raise their own awareness and personally contribute to sustainability causes.
