$229M Powerball jackpot up for grabs Saturday night

Powerball players will take another crack Saturday night at a jackpot that has risen to $229 million.

The cash value is $138.3 million. The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and televised on WABC-7 in the New York City area and WPVI-6 closer to Philadelphia.

On Wednesday, no ticket sold matched five numbers and the Powerball but four second-prize tickets were bought. Two of the four tickets matching five numbers were sold in Colorado; one apiece was sold in Kentucky and Texas.

No one who bought a ticket in New Jersey won more than $200. The three $200 ticketholders matched four numbers and spent an additional $1 to exercise the Powerplay option, which doubled their winnings.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 9, 43, 57, 60 and 64. The Powerball was 10.

The jackpot for the twice-weekly drawing has rolled over 13 times since a Pennsylvania couple won the $121.6 million prize on Dec. 17.

The odds of a $2 ticket hitting the jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. It's roughly a 11,688,053 to 1 shot to match five numbers but not the Powerball.

Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
