Miley Cyrus Ditched Grammys 2017 For Her Dogs Amid Breakup Rumors

Miley Cyrus shocked a lot of her fans for her no-show at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Instead of attending the awards show, the former Disney star was mostly home-bound that day and spent her time with her pet dogs. Meanwhile, there are rumors claiming Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth have already broken up. Since the two have yet to confirm the rumors, fans are still optimistic that the singer and the movie actor are still together and that they could be going out on a date this Valentine’s Day.

While the Grammys was taking place on Sunday evening, Cyrus took to Instagram to share a selfie she took with her Shetland Sheepdog pet Emu. The “Wrecking Ball” songstress revealed in the caption that she was having a date with Emu that night. Immediately after posting the pic on social media, Cyrus was asked by fans why she decided not to attend the Grammys this year. The singer-actress then answered the query through a follow-up post that shows her lying on the sofa with four of her pet dogs. In the caption, she stated that she ditched the awards show because she preferred to spend time with her dogs. She also joked that when she attends next year’s show, she might bring a few of her pets with her.

Prior her date night with her pet dogs, Cyrus was spotted strolling the streets of Malibu. The pop star reportedly went out to grab herself a drink and a bag of snacks. In the photos taken by Daily Mail, the singer is seen donning the same Happy Hippie white shirt she wore in her Instagram posts that day. Cyrus appeared to be makeup-free during her stroll as well.  The actress was pretty casual that day just like how her beau appeared to be quite laid-back the day before. Hemsworth was seen surfing the Malibu waves on Saturday with some pals. After enjoying his time with the waves, the “Hunger Games” actor was photographed by Just Jared while he was taking off his wetsuit in preparation of his and his pals’ departure from the beach.

Early last week, Cyrus and Hemsworth were spotted heading out to have lunch with their friends at Ollo restaurant — a clear sign that they are still together in spite of incessant rumors claiming they have once again called it quits. Gossip Cop also debunked the Star’s report on how Cyrus and Hemsworth are “constantly fighting” that they could be heading to splitsville anytime soon. The lovers aren’t the type to keep their fans hanging either based on how they handled their breakup in 2013. They right away  confirmed that they had split at the time. Should they have broken up for the second time, fans would have by now learned about this straight from the couple.

This Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to find out whether Cyrus and Hemsworth indeed split up. Ever since they rekindled their romance, the two have been inseparable during special occasions. In December last year, they did not only spend Christmas together, they also welcomed the new year with their family members in a joint family New Year’s eve party. Last month, Cyrus made her boyfriend feel extra-special by throwing a weed-themed birthday party for him, her sister Noah and their good pal Wayne Coyne. At the time, Cyrus documented the events at the party and shared some photos on Instagram for her fans to see. If she and Hemsworth are still together, it’s very likely that she’ll posts photos of their Valentine’s date on social media.
