A popular Easton bookstore and breakfast spot is on a winter break -- but it's no vacation for the owners. 

Quadrant Book Mart and Coffee House announced that it has closed temporarily to repair the aging building's broken heating system. Jo Moranville and Andy Danielsons, the married couple that has owned the Downtown fixture for more than 20 years, are also using the hiatus to take care of other repairs, since the winter months tend to bring slower business anyway. The building is about 170 years old, according to the bookstore. 

Quadrant first announced the closure on its Facebook page on Jan. 27. A voicemail message at the bookstore says the repairs are expected to take "a couple weeks." 

The cozy shop sells thousands of new and used books across multiple floors at 20 North 3rd Street. On the first floor, you'll find coffee in bulk and a cafe with an array of breakfast foods and sandwiches.

In an update Monday, the bookstore said that repairs were well underway and teased special promotions that customers can take advantage of to help offset the cost of repairs. 

Other members of the community are rallying to help out more directly. A GoFundMe page has been established so that fans of Quadrant can donate to the bookstore's effort to fix its heating system, exterior wall and more. As of Thursday afternoon, the fundraiser had pulled in more than $3,200 of its $20,000 goal after about 18 hours. Additional fundraisers are on the way, the GoFundMe page said. 

The bookstore isn't the owners' only contribution to the Easton community. Moranville also runs the annual Easton Garlic Fest.
