“Riverdale” Season 1, episode 2 just revealed two shocking details regarding Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) death. First, he did not die on July 4, but over a week later. Second, he did not die because of drowning. He was shot in the head by an unknown suspect.

In “Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil,” Betty (Lili Reinhart) is still upset with Veronica (Camila Mendes) for kissing Archie (K.J. Apa) during their Seven Minutes in Heaven game. Even though Veronica thinks that she didn’t do anything wrong since Betty and Archie are not a couple, she still shows sweet gestures to get her friend to forgive her. In the end, Betty chooses to forgive Veronica since she knows their friendship is more important.

Archie also struggles with his relationship with both Betty and Veronica in the episode. In the pilot, Archie told Betty that he doesn’t love her the same way she loves him. When Betty was finally ready to forgive Archie for not reciprocating her feelings, she hears him sing a song that she knows for sure he wrote for someone else. Once again, Betty cuts her ties with Archie.

Elsewhere, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) discovers that Archie and Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel) have a secret relationship. By the looks of it, “Riverdale” narrator Jughead can keep a secret. He doesn’t have very many friends, and he’s also very mysterious. Archie unburdens his problems on Jughead, and he willingly listens to every word.

Toward the end of the episode, Archie introduces Jughead to Betty and Veronica. They are all gathered at the diner, and all of them orders a milkshake. Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead exchange stories with each other, but none of them is courageous enough to talk about Jason’s demise.
