Show choirs compete at Naperville North's Clash of the Sequins

Naperville North High School show choirs sponsored their annual show choir invitational, Clash of the Sequins, an all-day competition between ensembles from around the Midwest.

Audiences at Clash of the Sequins got to see a variety of routines, performed enthusiastically and professionally.

Wheaton North High School's performance, "Bloom," proved to be a hit with the late afternoon audience.

"These kids work very hard from the summer and throughout the fall preparing for competition season until now, and it's really exciting to see them up on stage doing so well," said Danielle Joynes, a Wheaton North parent. "Many groups have a lot of flash, but it really comes down to professional vocal training and choreography," Joynes said.

Josh Inglis, co-chairman of public relations and social media for Clash of the Sequins, agreed.

"We make it big like a Beyoncé concert because these kids work so hard for this," Inglis said. "We want to give them a really special experience. We also want to do something that's going to draw people back to Naperville, which is a very special place. So far, so good."
