"Big Little Lies": Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern star in a limited series that shrewdly blends social satire, drama and a murder mystery among the generally well-off denizens of Monterey, California. (9 p.m. HBO)
"Billions": The sizzling drama feels more timely than ever, as the battle between a hedge-fund billionaire (Damian Lewis) and a New York U.S. Attorney (Paul Giamatti) gets even more heated. (10 p.m. Showtime)
"Crashing": Stand-up comic Pete Holmes created and stars in a new comedy about a struggling comedian trying to get a break in New York City. (10:30 p.m. HBO)
MONDAY
"The Bachelor": This ridiculous season - OK, even more ridiculous than usual - continues when Nick takes the women who have made it this far on hometown dates. Cue the romantic moments, awkward conversations with family members and maybe some tears. (8 p.m. ABC/2)
"Battle for the Pride": It's time again for "Big Cat Week" on Nat Geo Wild, a week's worth of shows devoted to understanding the beauty, savagery and endangered status of some of the most magnificent creatures on the planet. This documentary looks at a pride of lions in Botswana and what it takes to survive in the wild. (9 p.m. Nat Geo Wild)
"The Talk: Race in America": A new documentary exploring the subject of how parents of color talk to their children about how to behave and what to expect if they should be stopped by the police. (10 p.m. PBS/10)
"Bates Motel": One of TV's best and most underrated series begins its fifth and final season. The story picks up nearly two years later than where we left off - that was, you may recall, Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) killing his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga.) But as "Psycho" fans know, just because Norman's mother is dead doesn't mean she's still not around, in his mind. This season also brings Rihanna in the role of Marion Crane, the role Janet Leigh made famous in Hitchcock's original. (10 p.m. A&E)
TUESDAY
"Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise": You may think you know about the late writer and activist Maya Angelou, but this absorbing new "American Masters" documentary uses late-in-life interviews with Angelou herself, as well as archival footage, to present a broad, fascinating portrait of her remarkable life. (8 p.m. PBS/10)
"The Detour": The off-kilter family comedy returns for Season 2. (10 p.m. TBS)
WEDNESDAY
"Legion": David (Dan Stevens) tries to navigate his own fractured memories to understand his past. (10 p.m. FX)
THURSDAY
"Sun Records": Chad Michael Murray stars as Sam Phillips, the trailblazing record producer who worked with such legendary figures as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. (10 p.m. CMT)
