Bedford police, FBI search for U.S. Bank robber

BEDFORD, Ohio - Authorities are asking for the public's help to find a man accused of robbing a Bedford bank Monday.

The Cleveland branch of the FBI released surveillance images of the robbery, which happened about 4 p.m. Monday at the U.S. Bank on the 600 block of Broadway Avenue. The robber came into the bank alone and passed a note to the teller, FBI spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said.

The robber wrote in the note that he was armed, though no weapon was seen, Anderson said. He also told the teller several times to "give me the money" and "hurry up."

After the teller handed over the cash, the robber walked southbound on Broadway Avenue. No one was injured, Anderson said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Bedford police at 440-232-1234 or the Cleveland FBI at 216-522-1400. Tips can remain anonymous, and reward money is available for information that lead to the successful prosecution of the robber.
