BEACHWOOD, Ohio -- Officials have determined that a bomb threat called in Monday to the Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Beachwood was not credible.

The community center -- which was among approximately 10 Jewish community centers in the U.S. to receive bomb threats Monday -- was not evacuated after the threat was called in, Mandel JCC president Michael G. Hyman said in a statement.

Beachwood police's bomb-sniffing dogs and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland assisted security guards in a search of the building, Hyman said. The threat was quickly determined to be false, he said.

The center remained open and running on regular hours, Hyman said. The Beachwood center was the only Ohio center to receive a bomb threat.
