CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Iowa Wild made the most of their shots in shutting out the Cleveland Monsters, 3-0, in an American League Hockey game Friday at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Wild took just 12 shots on the night, but scored in each period to extend their winning streak to five. They have also won seven straight on the road.
The two teams play at the Q again on Saturday at 7 p.m.
With the loss, the Monsters fall to 20-18-1-3 while Iowa is 23-19-4-1 and nudged ahead of the Monsters into fourth place in the AHL Central Division. Cleveland leads the season series, 2-1-0-1.

Cleveland out-shot Iowa, 28-12, but Iowa's Alex Stalock was perfect in goal. Anton Forsberg stopped 9 of 11 shots to fall to 13-10-2.
Iowa got on the board at 13:03 of the first period on an unassisted goal by forward Mario Lucia, his ninth. Iowa managed just three shots in the period.
The Wild managed just six shots in the second period, but scored the only goal of the session at 6:31 by Christoph Bertschy.
Teemu Pulkkinen scored an empty-netter at 18:17 of the third to close the scoring.
He's back: The Columbus Blue Jackets assigned defenseman Dean Kukan to the Monsters on Thursday. Kukan, 23, who was recalled on Monday, has a goal and 12 assists and a +4 plus/minus rating in 37 games with the Monsters.
He's signed, again: Joe Devin signed a professional tryout contract with the Monsters on Thursday. Devin appeared in 16 games with the Monsters last year and has also played for San Antonio Rampage. He has been playing with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays this season.
Up next: After Saturday's game with Iowa, the Monsters play at the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday at 8 p.m., then at Iowa on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ...
