Horse breeder: I was fired because my coworker got me pregnant

Real-estate developer and racetrack owner Jeffrey Gural is being sued for firing a horse breeder at his Pennsylvania farm, who claims she was canned for getting pregnant.

Laura Burke, who worked as an “equine assistant” at Gural’s Allerage Farms in Sayre, says in her Manhattan federal court suit that she was told she had been fired for violating company policy by hooking up with a fellow staffer.

But she says in the suit that was just a pretext for Gural — owner of the Meadowlands Racetrack and Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs upstate — to get rid of her after she became pregnant.

The suit claims the chairman of commercial real-estate firm Newmark Grubb Knight Frank fired her and then concocted a story about having a policy against relationships between employees.

As proof, Burke’s lawsuit claims that the worker Gural believed to be the father of her child was not fired — or even disciplined.

Gural did not return requests for comment.
