SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio

Found property, Warrensville Center Road:
A Lyft driver reported Jan. 14 a man that she had given a ride to around 3 a.m. had left a bag in her vehicle and had been contacting since that time, offering $20 for her to return it. She said there was suspicious circumstances pertaining to the area in Cleveland in which she picked him up and left him and she felt very uneasy. The bag was found to contain men's underwear, two cell phones and an unloaded BB gun. Lyft requested a police report be filed.

Theft, Warrensville Center Road:

A Cleveland man, 39, was charged with the theft of lighters, cell phones and memory cards at Walmart Jan. 31. He concealed some items in his pants and removed other items from their packaging and concealed them in different locations in the store. He had previously been issued trespass warnings from other Walmart stores in the area.

Property damage, Mayfield Road:

A woman reported at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 1 someone slashed a tire on her vehicle while it was parked at Spoto's Bar & Grill. There were no suspects identified.

Open container in a public place, Warrensville Center Road:

An East Cleveland man, 45, was cited Feb. 1 for having an open container of beer in his vehicle after an officer found him parked in the Walmart parking lot with loud music playing. He said he was waiting for his mother, who was inside the store shopping.

Receiving stolen property, Ellison Road:

Officers stopped a vehicle after observing it speeding and driving erratically around 1 a.m. Jan. 28. The driver was issued multiple traffic citations and found to be driving under suspension. The vehicle's license plate was registered to another vehicle and it was later learned the owner lived in the same Willoughby Hills apartment complex as the driver. The man, 22, was further cited for receiving stolen property. The owner of the plate told police the following day she had not noticed the license plate on her vehicle had been changed.

General assistance, Fairoaks Road:

A woman said Jan. 24 a neighbor was bothering her and she felt unsafe around him. She said he yells and stares at her and stands in his bushes when she arrives home. Officers spoke to the man, 23, who denied her allegations. They were both told to stay after from each other. Shortly after, the man's mother reported she went over to the woman's house to find out what her son had been doing, but the woman was rude to her and she felt threatened by her. Everyone involved was once again told to stay away from one another.

Theft, South Green Road:

A woman said Jan. 30 a wedding ring was missing from her home and she believed it may have been stolen during a birthday party she had for her son on Jan. 22. She said the party included about 5-6 teenagers and some of their parents, some of which she had never met. The ring had been kept inside a container in the bathroom, which several guests would have used. She valued the ring at $769.

Burglary, Winston Road:
A home was found broken into Jan. 26 and a jewelry box, three TVs, video game console and two gifts cards were reported missing. Officers believed the front door was the point of entry because it appeared to have been forced open and its screen door had a window removed.

Burglary, Burger Road:

A woman reported at 1:26 p.m. Feb. 2 a man had just ran out of her daughter's home with a laptop computer and left in a pickup truck that was being driven by someone else. She witnessed the incident when she arrived at the home to drop off groceries. She said her daughter does not always lock the door. It was later determined two laptop computers and a video game system had been stolen. The suspects were not located.

Disorderly conduct, Warrensville Center Road:

Officers responded to Walmart Jan. 19 for a report of two men arguing for unknown reasons. One of them had left, but the other continued to yell, curse and use racial slurs in the presence of children and others in the store. The Cleveland man, 26, was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.

Burglary, Wilmington Road:

A woman reported at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 24 two men tried to force their way into her home while she was there working. She said they ran off and left in a pickup truck when she yelled for them to get away from the door. She believed one of them was prying on the door with a crowbar. The suspects were not located.

Theft, Cedar Road:

A Shell employee said Jan. 26 a man drank a Red Bull drink without paying for it and was not entering the Speedway store across the street. Officers located him at that store and he appeared to be drunk. A Taser had to be deployed because he would not comply. He then began to claim he was God and of his current royalty status. The South Euclid man, 45, was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. He was charged with theft and obstructing official business.
