MORELAND HILLS, Ohio -- Disturbance, psychiatric situation, Chagrin Boulevard: Police were called to an REM group home on the evening of Feb. 12, where a woman was reportedly out of hand, throwing things and breaking windows and TVs.
Police were on the scene for about an hour, where a woman with possible heart palpitations refused medical transport. About 8:15, someone was taken to a home in the Union-Miles Park section of Cleveland.And when an officer returned for a follow-up around 10:40 p.m., the situation appeared to be resolved.
Suspicion, Eastview Lane: A dog walker reported on the afternoon of Feb. 13 that his clients' dog was already outside and their door was open. He wanted an officer present while he checked the house. Police found nothing amiss inside, leading them to believe that the family dog may have caused the door to open.
Disturbance, psychiatric situation; squad call; Murwood Drive: Police were called to a home about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 where a teenage girl was taken to Hillcrest Hospital for an evaluation after putting scissors to her neck, throwing things and threatening to further harm herself by taking pills. Her brother had managed to take the scissors away as safety forces were en route and a perimeter was being set up.
Suspicion, Sterncrest Drive: A caller reported about 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 that, two hours earlier, a black or dark blue pickup truck pulled into her driveway, and when she and her dogs went outside, the driver backed up and sped down the street. She no longer wanted to speak to officers, who checked the area for any suspects, which proved to be futile.
Departmental information, Chagrin Boulevard: A patrol officer advised individuals parked at the Sunoco station around 2 a.m. on Feb. 12 not to sleep in the parking lot.
Animal complaint (miscellaneous); Deepwood Drive: A warning citation was issued Feb. 10 to the owner of a German Shepherd who did not have the dog on a leash when it went after another dog being walked by its owner about 8:30 a.m.
Vehicle lockout (entry gained), Rydalwood Lane: Police assisted in liberating a dog trapped in a 2014 Porsche after the owner locked the keys -- and the dog -- in the car shortly before 10 a.m. on Feb. 9.
Suspicion, Bentleyville Road: A caller reported hearing a message on her answering machine Feb. 13 telling her to call her local police in order to remedy the situation. She wasn't sure what they were referring to, but she requested that an officer stop by and listen to the message, after which a report was being prepared.
