A man chased a female minor with two knives during an assault in Annapolis home Monday night, police said.

Annapolis police said officers responded to a call of an assault on the 1800 block of Bowman Court around 8 p.m. Monday night.

A woman at the home told police that she and Willie Smith, 38, of Annapolis were at the home together when Smith became angry and assaulted her and the girl.

Police said that Smith "pursued the juvenile with two knives and attempted to stab her." The two attempted to disarm Smith, police said, and suffered cuts on their fingers as a result.

Neither of the two were seriously injured and were treated for the cuts on the scene.

Smith was arrested at the home and charged with first and second degree assault along with reckless endangerment.
