CLEVELAND, Ohio - A forum on President Trump's executive order halting refugees from entering the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority nations will be held Friday in Cuyahoga Falls.

The forum is co-hosted by the Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Islamic Society of Akron and Kent.

The forum will focus on providing information about the impact of the executive order, as well as other potential orders and policies that may affect the rights of immigrants and American citizens, particularly from the Muslim community.

"Because there are likely more executive orders in the pipeline, the Muslim community is encouraged to attend in order to stay engaged and keep abreast of developments in what is a fluid situation," the forum hosts said in a prepared release.

Featured speaker will be immigration attorney David Wolfe Leopold, and Julia A. Shearson, executive director of the Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

"The Muslim Ban is just one aspect of the overall Trump changes to immigration policy, and the ban itself is merely the first stage of implementing the so-called 'extreme vetting' process," Shearson said.

"As such, it is important to understand the ramifications of 'extreme vetting,' as well as the changes to the overall immigration policy, so we can be prepared, know our rights and respond appropriately," she said.

The forum will run from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Islamic Society of Akron & Kent is located at 152 East Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls.
