What's open, closed on President's Day 2017?

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Monday is President's Day, a federal holiday which falls on the third Monday of February.

Fun fact: President's Day officially celebrates only one president. Our first, George Washington. On a federal level, the holiday is still Washington's Birthday.

Although Washington's birthday is February 22, a legislation passed in the 1960s designated that it, along with Memorial Day and Veteran's Day, would be celebrated on Mondays, according to the Smithsonian.

Since it's a federal holiday, banks and government buildings are closed. But many businesses are open (and stores are offering sales!)

About 39 percent of employers give employees President's Day off, according to Bloomberg BNA.
