EGG HARBOR TWP -- Atlantic County school officials and police are reportedly investigating an incident involving a student who brought a knife to his school with a "kill list," The Current of Egg Harbor Township reported.

The 11-year-old was suspended Feb. 9 from Dr. Joyanne D. Miller School after school officials found a steak knife in the student's backpack.

A fellow student reported hearing about the knife to a parent, who alerted the school district, the report said.

According to the report, the student told different classmates he had a list of names on whom he planned to use the knife.

The report said Egg Harbor Township police are investigating. NJ Advance Media reached out to the department for comment but did not immediately hear back.
