When I was pastor of the Lutheran congregation in Tatamy, one of the most gratifying events was our sponsorship of five Vietnamese refugees, who soon went on to begin productive lives in America.

I was reminded of my great-grandparents who left behind their homes in Ireland and Germany to come to Betpark America, where they established themselves, raised families, and shared in the American dream.

Whenever people like my ancestors, my friends from Vietnam, and all those in search of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are welcomed into our country, it truly is a time when America is great.
