SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- An 18-year-old Jersey City resident arrested in Massachusetts last week in the Jan. 24 fatal shooting of a Hoboken teen will be sent back to New Jersey on Wednesday, said the district attorney's office in Hampden County, Mass.

Authorities said the U.S Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Keyshaun Wiggins without incident at the home of a girlfriend in Springfield, Mass., where he was found sleeping just after 9 a.m. on Friday.

Wiggins and and two others are charged with murder, felony murder, robbry and weapons offenses in the death of 18-year-old Adrian Rivera. Prosecutors say Rivera was shot once in the torso inside his family's apartment at the Andrew Jackson Gardens public housing complex on Hoboken's western edge.

"The suspect in question is currently being held without the right to bail," James Leydon, a spokesman for Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gullui, said in an email Tuesday afternoon. "It appears he has signed a waiver of extradition and is scheduled to be picked up by law enforcement officials from New Jersey tomorrow."

The two other suspects, Khalif Geiger, 20, of Jersey City, and an unidentified 17-year-were, arrested the day after the shooting, and a warrant for Wiggins' arrest was issued the day after that, according to the prosecutor's office.

The shooting heightened fears among Jackson Gardens residents, who said doors were often jammed open, and the police were not visible enough, concerns that authorities say are being addressed.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez said at a community meeting that the shooting appeared to have resulted from a botched robbery attempt, and that more than $13,000 in cash and three pounds of marijuana were found in the apartment.
