A man was fatally shot in the head early Friday at his East Side home while his wife and children were inside.

The man was shot after he was notified by one of his children that they had seen a man through a window, police say.  The wife heard the gunshot.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, which was not described by police.

Officers are currently investigating the shooting.
