SAN ANTONIO — A woman was shot to death Tuesday night in a South Side apartment during a possible domestic disturbance.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the woman, 33, was found dead inside a residence when officers arrived at about 8:45 p.m. at the Spanish Spur Apartments, 6835 Pecan Valley Drive.

"We are not certain at this point whether it was a homicide or if it was an accidental shooting," McManus said.

Police are now searching for the woman's boyfriend, 33, who was possibly involved in a dispute with her before the shooting.

McManus said the woman had been staying with him in his apartment.

The woman had one gunshot wound to her upper body, McManus said.

Investigators did not yet know exactly what led to the shooting, noting that the couple were the only people inside the apartment.

At the scene, several family members were gathered and crying outside the crime tape.
