Three vehicles crashed Tuesday afternoon in east Santa Rosa, sending one down an embankment and trapping at least one person, according to initial emergency dispatch reports.

Santa Rosa fire, two ambulances and police were called to the 2:45 p.m. collision on Montgomery Drive and Spring Lake Court, near Spring Lake.

Officials anticipated needing to close Montgomery Drive, possibly at Mission Boulevard, to keep busy afternoon traffic from the blocked scene.

Two people appeared to have minor injuries and the person trapped in the car had moderate injuries, according to initial reports.

Santa Rosa firefighters expected it would take extensive effort to free the trapped person.
