President Trump has fired up his feud with one of the adults in Washington, D.C., tweeting that Sen. John McCain "doesn't know how to win anymore" and was wrong to call a U.S. raid in Yemen a failure.
Trump unleashed a series of Thursday morning tweets against the chairman of Senate Armed Services Committee, and a Vietnam POW hero.
"Sen. McCain should not be talking about the success or failure of a mission in the media. Only emboldens the enemy! He's been losing so long he doesn't know how to win anymore," said America's 45th president.

The White House proclaimed the Yemen mission a "success," although it failed to kill the terrorist leader it targeted. Yemen has since withdrawn its welcome to U.S. counterterrorism efforts. The raid saw the death of Navy SEAL William "Ryan" Owens, an 8-year-old American citizen and roughly 30 civilians.
McCain described the raid as a "failure" although later terming it "not a success."
White House press secretary Sean Spicer upbraided McCain earlier in the week and called on the senator to apologize.
It was Trump on Twitter Thursday. "Just look at the mess our country is in -- bogged down in conflict all over the place. Our hero Ryan died on a winning mission (according to General Mattis) not a 'failure," tweeted the President. "Time for the U.S. to get smart and start winning again."
Trump began insulting McCain early in the 2016 presidential campaign.
During a Q-and-A in Iowa, Trump said of the Senator: "He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."
McCain has been grilling his teeth. He voted to confirm Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, after voicing "conerns" about the Exxon boss' "relationship with Vladimir Putin."
McCain has also done some cleaning up for the ham-handed Trump.
McCain stepped in earlier this month after a contentious phonecall to Australia's Prime Minister which Trump abruptly ended, and after which he tweeted an attack on the "illegal immigrants" that the U.S. has agreed to take under an agreement with the Aussies.
In a statement, McCain said:
"I called Australia's Ambassador the the United States this morning to express my unwavering support for the U.S.-Australia alliance. I asked Ambassador Hockey to convey to the people of Australia that their American brothers and sisters value our historic alliance, honor the sacrifice of the Australians who have served and are serving by our side, and remain committed to the safer, freer and better world that Australia does far more than its fair share to protect and promote."
Trump was not mentioned, but the onetime Vietnam POW delivered this line:
"Those who took part in the conflict remember well the service of more than 50,000 Australians in the Vietnam War, including more than 500 that gave their lives."
