A long-term agreement for Bryan Rust

The Pittsburgh Penguins reportedly agreed to terms on a six-year contract with forward Bryan Rust on Saturday night.

According to information first reported by the TSN network, Rust would receive an annual salary of $ 5.2 million. However, the agreement has not yet been officially signed by the two parties.

The 30-year-old would continue his career with the team that drafted him in the third round (80th overall) in 2010.

He could have become an unrestricted free agent in the next offseason, having completed the final year of a four-year, $14 million deal.

The American had his best campaign in 2021-22, amassing 58 points in 60 games, in addition to adding eight more in seven playoff games. Rust has established himself as a quality winger on Pennsylvania's top two lines in recent years, having 270 points in 424 career games.
