This December, Alsa has begun operating six new lines on the TPG network in Geneva with a fleet made up entirely of electric buses, making it the company's largest operation with zero-emission vehicles and the first operator of TPG urban services to use ZEV vehicles.

For its launch, the Spanish mobility company has acquired 22 new electric buses and four reserve hybrid buses and invested in new facilities located in the Satigny industrial area, equipped with the necessary charging infrastructure for the new electric fleet and for future growth.

These new lines were awarded by TPG in 2022 and are added to the two that Alsa has already operated since 2018 in the Swiss city. These are lines 41, 43, 47, 48, 70 and 75, which will be used by more than three million passengers a year, as reported in a statement.

Their operation with these zero-emission vehicles will avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 70,000 tons of CO2 per bus per year, so the entire fleet will save more than 1.5 million tons of CO2 each year.

"The start of this new contract has been an enormous challenge and has positioned us as one of the main private operators in Geneva and at the forefront when it comes to sustainable mobility," said the general director of International and Mergers and Acquisitions of Alsa, Miguel Pérez-Judge.

Next year, Alsa will reach 200 vehicles and more than 300 employees in Switzerland since its entry in 2016, with activity in urban, alpine, school, tourist and discretionary transport, as well as on international lines from Switzerland to Spain and other countries. Europeans.
