Emirates has signed an order for 15 additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft for $6 billion (€5.529 million) within the framework of the Dubai Air Show, expanding the total order to 65 aircraft.

The company's CEO, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, has indicated that they plan to use these aircraft to serve new markets, with trips of up to 15 flight hours from Dubai.

He added that the orders that Emirates has signed this week are "carefully planned" to support the company's growth and in line with Dubai's economic plans. "The Emirates experience is often a visitor's first experience of Dubai and we want it to be the best," she stressed.

INVESTMENTS IN THE A380 FLEET

On the other hand, Emirates has signed a series of agreements to maintain and improve the operational efficiency of its fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft over the next decade.

The airline has signed agreements worth more than 1,500 million dollars (1,382 million euros) these days at the Dubai Air Show with a series of suppliers and partners that offer after-sales and maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO, for its acronym in English) for this fleet.

Emirates Airline President Tim Clark said the A380 "will continue to be part of Emirates' history" and that its size and capacity have allowed the company to "unlock growth at some of the world's busiest airports." For this reason, he has indicated that this model "will continue to be fundamental" for the company over the next decade and that, therefore, they want to ensure that the fleet "is in top shape."
