Entrecanales earned 3.75 million euros in 2023 as president of Acciona, 28.9% less

MADRID, 1 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Acciona, José Manuel Entrecanales, received a total remuneration of 3.75 million euros in 2023, which represents a decrease of 28.9% compared to the almost 5.3 million he received a year ago, due to the lower short-term variable remuneration.

Thus, Entrecanales' remuneration is made up of a salary of 1.37 million euros and a variable remuneration of 2.3 million, to which another 74,000 euros are added for other concepts, according to the National Commission of the Market of Securities (CNMV).

For his part, the vice president of Acciona, Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, received 946,000 euros in total last year, 23.5% less, divided into 738,000 euros in salary, 167,000 euros in short-term variable remuneration and 41,000 euros in other items. .

As a whole, Acciona's board of directors received a total remuneration of almost 7 million euros in 2023, 22.9% less, mainly as a result of the decrease in the remuneration of both executives.

Acciona indicates in its annual remuneration policy report that its board of directors has acquired the commitment to limit annual variable remuneration for the remaining period of application of the remuneration policy, that is, for 2024 and 2025.

Specifically, the maximum amount of annual variable remuneration may not exceed 150% of the target annual remuneration. This commitment will also be maintained in the remuneration policy that is submitted for approval by the board in fiscal year 2025.

It has also made a commitment not to approve any amounts for variable incentives in the remainder of the current remuneration policy.

The company chaired by José Manuel Entrecanales informed the CNMV last night that it closed the 2023 financial year with a net profit of 541 million euros, which is 22.6% more than the previous year.

Acciona's income increased by 52% last year, to 17,021 million euros, thanks to its "record" infrastructure portfolio.

Acciona Energía, for its part, obtained an attributable net profit of 524 million euros in 2023, 30.9% less than in 2022. Its income fell by 18.5%, to 3,547 million euros, of which 1,851 million correspond to the wholesale generation business, and 1,696 million come from the clean energy marketing business for companies in Spain and Portugal.
