The weather did not stop eager Ikea customers from lining up to be one of the first to check out the new Burbank location, which had a grand opening ceremony Wed. at 8:30 a.m. At 456,000 square feet, it is the Swedish retailer’s biggest Ikea store in the United States, and it stocks 10,000 items.

Lines began forming at around midnight.

Numbers were handed out to customers to keep things as orderly as they can be during the opening of the largest Ikea in the U.S.

Local face painters showed up to entertain those who had a few hours to kill before the shop opened.

Some decided to skip the morning extravaganza but still planned on making the trip today.
