Iberdrola increases the interim dividend by 12.2%, to 0.202 gross euros per share

MADRID, 5 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Iberdrola will distribute 0.202 euros gross per share as an interim dividend against 2023 results, a figure 12.2% higher than the 0.180 euros per share distributed against 2022 results, as the company reported this Friday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

To this interim dividend for fiscal year 2023, the complementary dividend that the company plans to pay in the month of July will be added if approved by the company's general meeting of shareholders.

As explained by the company chaired by Ignacio Sánchez Galán, investors who choose to receive the interim dividend in cash will receive the corresponding amount on January 31.

The electricity company offers its shareholders three options within the framework of its flexible remuneration program: collect in cash the amount corresponding to the interim dividend; sell their allocation rights on the market, or obtain new released shares of the group for free.

Those shareholders who opt for the option of receiving new shares must have 58 free allocation rights to receive a new company title.

The three options are combinable, so the shareholder could choose one of the alternatives or combine them according to their preferences.

Iberdrola's flexible remuneration system assigns by default the option of receiving new shares, so those shareholders who prefer to receive their remuneration in cash must notify their bank between January 9 and 23.

To carry out this new edition of the remuneration system, Iberdrola has announced that it will carry out a capital increase for a maximum of 1,304 million euros.

According to the information published this Friday by the company, today, January 5, the number of free allocation rights necessary to receive one share and the amount of the gross interim dividend per share will be communicated.

Next Monday, January 8, will be the last day on which the shares with the right to participate in the dividend will be traded and on January 9 the period of election and trading on the Stock Exchange of the free allocation rights will begin, which will end on January 23.

On January 31, the shares will be delivered or the interim dividend will be paid, and the new securities will begin trading on February 2.
