A man shot in Englewood on Friday evening was pronounced dead the next morning, authorities said.

Travis Joseph, 31, was shot Friday at 6 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 71st Place, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said he was on a porch when someone came up and fired shots. He was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

Joseph, who lived in the same block where he was shot, died Saturday at 4:11 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
