The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions (WGB) will begin the search process for a new president, after the Dutch Daniëlle Goudriaan has decided not to run for office. new appointment as president in 2024.

Goudriaan has informed WGB delegates of her decision not to stand for a reappointment as president in 2024, following the completion of her term as Dutch European Prosecutor at the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) and the decision to take up the role of partner in a private law firm based in the Netherlands.

Thus, the WGB will soon publish the vacancy announcement and request expressions of interest for the position of WGB President, with a view to selecting a new President in the course of 2024.

In this regard, the WGB has agreed that its vice-president, Chris Basiurski, who currently serves as head of the UK delegation to the WGB and is deputy head of the UK Joint Anti-Corruption Unit (JACU), will take up the role of interim manner.

The WGB is responsible for monitoring implementation and compliance with the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, the 2021 Anti-Bribery Recommendation and other related instruments.
