Pa. man reportedly sentenced to 5 years for gas station robbery spree

MORRISTOWN -- A Pennsylvania man was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison for using an imitation handgun to rob one gas station in Netcong three times and a Shell station in Rockaway Township twice, the Daily Record reported.

Nicholas Saccoccio, 26, of Stroudsburg, Pa., had no criminal record prior to the robberies and was hooked on heroin at the time, according to the report.

Saccoccio was caught in August after he crashed his car while fleeing police, the newspaper previously reported.

Police have said he used an imitation handgun to hold up the Shell station on Green Pond Road in Rockaway Township in July and August, as well as the Valero Gas Station on Route 46 in Netcong in July and August.

In each instance, he took at least $150, according to the Morris County Sheriff's CrimeStoppers.
