Chicago police on Wednesday released surveillance photos of a man suspected of committing three robberies in the Belmont Heights neighborhood in recent weeks.

The man most recently robbed someone about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of North Harlem Avenue, according to a police community alert.

The man has approached people from behind and forced them to give up their property, according to the alert, which did not specify what has been stolen.

The man also robbed people:

  • About 9 p.m. Feb. 26 in the 7700 block of West Belmont Avenue;
  • And about 8:10 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 3300 block of North Harlem.

The robber is described as a white man, ages 20 to 30, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet and about 170 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded jacket with a  zipper, a blue T-shirt, jeans and a dark knit hat. In one of the surveillance photos, he also was wearing what appear to be tan suede or leather work boots.
