Portland Metro Wednesday Traffic: High winds cause travel hazards at the coast

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the Oregon Coast and areas directly inland through 6 a.m. Thursday. Gusts are expected in the 65 to 75 mph range. High profile vehicles may find travel difficult. Also watch for flying debris, downed trees and power lines.

BANFIELD 6:20 a.m.; A stall continues to block the left lane I-84 westbound near 74th. Long back up to 102nd Avenue and on I-205 north and southbound.

ICE IN THE GORGE 6:30 a.m.; Interstate 84 is CLOSED both directions near MP 114 (east of Biggs Jct.) due to crash involving multiple vehicles on black ice.

The Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation has closed the Saddle Mountain State Natural Area in the north coast range due to downed large trees that are blocking Saddle Mountain Road leading into the park. Rangers had begun to move the trees, but with high winds forecast for Wednesday, work cannot resume until Thursday, Feb. 16.

PBOT advises that a road repair project will close travel lanes on Southwest Broadway at Alder Street downtown through 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. One travel lane will remain open in each direction. Watch for signs, flaggers and other traffic control devices.

A contractor is paving Northwest Sundial Road north of Northwest Graham Road near the Troutdale Airport through Wednesday, February 15, (weather permitting).  One lane is closed for paving while flaggers direct traffic through the open lane.  Allow extra time and expect delays.

Southeast Clackamas Road is closed between Brandeis Street and 98th Avenue for the installation of a sewer main. The road is closed through 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
