Renfe closes its second investment in startups with the entry into the capital of Visualfy

MADRID, 14 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Board of Directors of Renfe has approved the investment agreement in the capital of the Visualfy startup 'Fusio D'Arts Technology', which has developed a solution in the field of accessibility for deaf and hearing loss people.

This operation is part of the open innovation processes carried out through the TrenLab program, which allows Renfe the possibility of making investments in the capital of the participating startups, this being the second investment made by the public company.

With this round of investment, Visualfy faces organic growth, consolidating it as one of the most important startups in the accessibility sector.

As winner of the Accessibility challenge of the IV TrenLab call, Visualfy carried out a pilot test in 2022 at the Sol Cercanías station in Madrid with satisfactory results.

To validate its solution in a railway environment, in collaboration with Renfe's Accessibility teams, it has been necessary to install a series of elements that intervene in accessibility, such as an artificial intelligence system, emergency signaling lamps, Wifi light bulbs, Wifi strips or information signs.

Based on the success of the test carried out at the Sol station, Visualfy has formalized a contract with Renfe to implement its solution in another 25 stations. In a first phase, which will begin at the beginning of 2024 and will last three months, the necessary integrations will be carried out with the beacon system and the Renfe app.

In the second phase, which will last over 18 months, hardware will be installed in buildings, AI models will be created, alerts will be configured, the workers involved will be trained and the necessary tests will be carried out before the system goes into production.
