The third vice president of the Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, indicated this Friday that she sees herself as "an important asset" of the Government and the PSOE in the face of the European elections on June 9, and has opened the door to being a commissioner in the next European Executive.
"In this campaign I see myself as an important asset of my government and my party," he assured in statements to journalists before participating in the Cohesion Forum held in Brussels, although he said that the decisions on the head of the list for the European representatives or the representative of Spain in the next European Commission are decisions that "transcend him" and "that will be communicated in due time by the appropriate bodies."
Ribera, who appears in the PSOE pools for the European elections, has opened the door to being the next EU head of Energy. "If I end up being the person who is lucky enough to be able to develop those things, I will be delighted with life. And if it is someone else, I will help the person who is there," she stated, reiterating in any case that she greatly enjoys the development of the national agenda since "working in Spain is working in Europe." "In one place or another I will be very happy," she summarized.
Regarding the future of European climate policy, the vice president has indicated that it is necessary to "consolidate" the green agenda initiated during the mandate of Ursula von der Leyen, with whom "a lot of progress has been made in the right direction" but issues that " "It is not resolved in four years, in five years, or in ten years."
