Two types of Sara Lee products have been pulled off shelves in the latest cheese recall resulting from Listeria concerns at a third-party supplier, company officials said.

Though no Listeria was found in the Sara Lee products, the bacteria has been discovered in cheese manufactured in the same plant -- Deutsch Kase Haus LLC's facility in Middleburg, Ind.

On Saturday, Sargento recalled seven cheese products.

The Sara Lee products were distributed to food retailers in Pennsylvania and five other states -- Alabama, California, Louisiana, Michigan, and Texas.

Listeria can potentially cause fatal infections in young children, the elderly or people with weakened immune systems. Otherwise healthy people high could have fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, according to the FDA.

The recalled products are:

  • Sara Lee "Sliced Monterey Jack Cheese with Jalapeno Peppers" with the item number 40205, Product Lot #A319349610, and "USE BY JUN-12-17" and
  • Sara Lee "Sliced Colby Jack Cheese" with the item number 40208, Product Lot #A319348610, and "USE BY JUN-11-17"
